Google has applauded the EU’s decision concerning the Browser Bailout that forces Microsoft to provide alternative options for the Windows users. Now this decision has been handed down by the EU court to make sure that Microsoft’s choke hold on the Browser market is defused, at least in Europe. First they demanded that Microsoft removed IE 8 completely from the Windows environment, to which Microsoft told them, very politely to go and do ‘something’ to themselves. Then they came out with this idea that Microsoft has to provide the user with alternative option for the user, so they may choose if they want to. Now this, to me, is like asking GM to provide Ford as an alternative to their products! It makes no sense, but I guess this is one of those “je ne sais qua” type of stuff that is hard to explain. A word of Caution: Google might be applauding the EU decision against Microsoft, but they won’t be really laughing when their ‘Search Monopoly’ will be under the scrutiny of the same court that rendered the decision against Microsoft.

Zero Day attack against PowerPoint 2000 – 2003 is still successful, since Microsoft hasn’t come up with a resolution for this problem! Since this attack concerns the 2000 2002 2003 versions Powerpoint, Microsoft has has ample time to fix this problem! Question is this: Why this venerability has been aloud to spam across 3 version of the Powerpoint, and why wasn’t it fixed in the numerous updates that was issued as far as 2001? Then again we are talking about Microsoft which adheres to no rhyme or reason. Strangely tho, the problem does not exist in the Office 2007! What gives? I just mentioned this matter to a friend of mine on our Ustream TV and he simply replied: “Stupidity”! May be thats true, but certainly it isn’t a satisfactory response in the part of Microsoft.

Apple invented the Touch UI and popularized it thru it’s implementation in iPhone and iPod and now via new MacBook Laptops with Glass-Pad! having all this information and popularization, Microsoft is now here to take advantage of all this and add it’s own challenge and improvements to the market with the addition of gestures to the standard Touch UI. This about this; Isn’t it great that someone else does your initial R&D – Development – Debugging – Testing – QA and Marketing, then you arrive and take all of that and your own icing on the top and profiting form it?Well this is not the first time and I am sure it ain’t the last time! Microsoft has been doping that to Apple for a long time and they have done it overtly. I guess, after all, Size matters! Taking on the Microsoft juggernaut is not easy and companies like Apple prefer to give their technology to Microsoft as oppose taking them to court! But lets remember that yesterday was the Anti-Piracy day and Microsoft has been pushing this day as the “day of attonement“, may be it is a good time for Microsoft stop it’s own Piratical ways as well. Don’t you think so?
